John Carroll has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. John started their career in 2003 at Columbia University Medical Center as an Information Technology Manager, where they built and managed IT infrastructure for the Center for Behavioral Cardiovascular Health. John then joined AM Investment Partners in 2008 as a Systems Administrator, where they provided IT support for a hedge fund firm. Finally, in 2011, John joined KIND as a Systems Administrator and eventually moved up to the role of Senior Systems Administrator and Lead DevOps Engineer. In this role, they administered and deployed highly available production systems in Amazon Web Services and worked with various application stacks.
John Carroll attended Columbia University from 2004 to 2008, where they pursued post baccalaureate studies in computer programming, economics, accounting, and finance. Prior to that, they attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1994 to 1999, where they obtained a degree in engineering. Additionally, John has obtained several certifications, including an Advanced Certificate Program in DevOps from Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science (expected in 2023), Programming with Python from Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science (2022), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ 104) from Microsoft (2022), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance (2020), ITIL Foundation from EXIN (2015), and Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (2014).
