James Beal is an Associate and Trainee Patent Attorney at Kilburn & Strode since April 2016, where responsibilities include drafting and prosecuting patents across various technical areas such as software, electronics, and medtech. Prior to this role, James conducted research as a PhD Student at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy from April 2013 to March 2016, focusing on plasma-material interactions in nuclear fusion tokamaks. James holds an MSci in Physics from Imperial College London (2008-2012), a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London (2016-2017), and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nuclear Fusion from the University of York (2012-2016).
