Jon Chu is a partner at Khosla Ventures, focusing on select investments such as Sakana.ai and Loft since May 2023. Previously, Jon served as Head of Engineering at Meta, overseeing SMB Ads Ranking, IG Shopping ML, and the Avatars Store from January 2020 to May 2023, with a background in machine learning, infrastructure, and virtual reality. Between 2017 and 2020, Jon held dual roles as Head of Engineering for Core Machine Learning and Head of Product for Growth at Opendoor. Prior experience includes serving as Enterprise Group Lead and Principal Product Manager at Docker, and founding Koality, Inc., which was acquired by Docker and backed by notable investors. Early career roles include software engineer positions at Palantir Technologies and Microsoft Corporation. Jon holds a Bachelor of Science degree with University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science, specializing in Computer Science and Math.
