John Muchuma is a skilled electrical engineer with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as an HVDC Electrical Plant Engineer and Substation Electrical Plant Engineer at Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) since July 2021. With a background in substation design, automation, and testing, John has been involved in operations and maintenance of primary equipment, as well as HVDC commissioning and operations. Prior roles include Graduate Engineer Substations and Trainee Engineer Substation at KETRACO. John began their career with an internship as an Electrical Engineer at Kenya Power. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Communications Engineering from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and a Diploma in Project Management from Kenya Institute of Management. John is a trained and certified user of Omicron test kits and a certified Real-time Digital Simulator user.
