Steven Cassar currently serves as a Student Teacher for third grade at Kenosha Unified School District, a position held since January 2024. Prior to this role, Steven accumulated extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, working at AbbVie from September 2010 to January 2024 as a Senior Scientist II in Toxicology, where responsibilities included assessing drug candidate safety and toxicology endpoints using zebrafish. Additionally, Steven conducted preclinical and cellular research focused on mechanism of action and translatable biomarkers at AbbVie. Earlier experience includes positions as Senior Scientist and Scientist at Abbott Laboratories from June 2002 to September 2010. Steven holds a Master of Arts in Teacher Education from Marian University of Fond du Lac, and possesses advanced degrees in Mycology and Biology from Louisiana State University and Alma College, respectively.
