Carter A. Cast

Board Member at Kellanova

Carter Cast joined the Kellogg Company’s Board of Directors in June 2017. Mr. Cast serves on the Audit Committee and the Social Responsibility & Public Policy Committee.

Mr. Cast is currently the Michael S. and Mary Sue Shannon Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is also a venture partner at Pritzker Group Venture Capital and a senior advisor for the Pritzker Private Capital organization.

Mr. Cast brings deep experience in the digital arena, previously helping to build and then lead Walmart.com, as its CEO. Prior to that, he led the launch of the Blue Nile brand, the leading online jewelry retailer and also served as the Chief Marketing Officer at eBay. He also has previously served as the Vice President of Product Marketing and Marketing Communications at Electronic Arts.

Mr. Cast has significant leadership experience as well at other Fortune 500 companies, including PepsiCo, Inc. where he was a marketing executive and Frito-Lay where he managed its $1.5 billion tortilla chips category, and developed and launched the salsas and dips category.

Mr. Cast serves on the Board of Directors of the Family Action Network and SMS Assist, Inc. He is also the author of the book, “The Right (and Wrong) Stuff: How Brilliant Careers are Made – and Unmade,” which Forbes named it as “one of the six best self-help books to keep you motivated until 2020 (and beyond).”

Mr. Cast received a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and completed his Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
