Sumat Chopra is a seasoned professional in private equity and mergers and acquisitions, currently serving as a Partner at Kearney, leading the Private Equity & M&A India practice since July 2023. Previously, Sumat worked at METRO AG from August 2016 to June 2023 as the Director-Asia Portfolio, where significant contributions were made in high-value deals, portfolio decisions, and large-scale transformations across India and Asia. Additionally, Sumat held the role of Deputy CFO at METRO Wholesale India during 2022-2023, managing financial planning and strategy for a $1 billion revenue entity. Earlier experiences include co-founding and leading EkStop.com, a top online grocery platform in India, and key positions at notable firms including the Godrej Group, Goldman Sachs, and Tata Capital. Sumat holds an MBA from INSEAD, as well as degrees from Harvard University, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Wharton School.
