Jeffrey Toney currently serves as a Visiting Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since June 2019, focusing on the philosophy of science and science education within the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy. Toney has held various significant roles at Kean University, such as Professor Emeritus, Senior Vice President of Research, and Chief Academic Officer, overseeing the expansion of research initiatives and academic affairs. Additional experience includes positions as an Advisory Board Member for SurgiBox Inc., a New England Regional Consortium Fellow at Harvard University, and a Sigma Xi Distinguished Lecturer. Toney is also a founding member of the Consortium of Scientists for Pandemic Preparedness and has been active in mentoring within the startup community through MassChallenge. An extensive educational background includes postdoctoral studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Medical School, as well as a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northwestern University.
