Valida Carroll is an accomplished on-air music host at KCRW since August 2010 and the founder of Valida, a multi-faceted role encompassing recording artist, producer, DJ, video production, and event production since January 1998. Valida served as the Desert Nights curator at The Standard Hotel from November 2007 to December 2020, where talent booking and event production were key responsibilities, notably creating a successful weekly live music event for ten years. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA, along with an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Santa Monica College and international educational experiences at various institutions.
