Kurt Verstegen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in both academia and business. Since January 2021, Kurt has served as the Owner and co-founder of The Maple Nursery, specializing in exclusive and rare trees, particularly acer palmatum. Concurrently, Kurt has been involved in product development at KBC Asset Management since November 2018. In academia, Kurt holds teaching positions at the University of Antwerp and KU Leuven, focusing on Banking and Financial Management since October 2016. Previously, Kurt worked as a risk modeller at KBC Bank & Verzekering and served as a PhD researcher and teaching assistant at the University of Antwerp from 2010 to 2015. Kurt's academic credentials include a PhD in Finance & Risk Management, an Advanced Master in Finance, and a Bachelor's and Master's in Business Economics.
