André Thalmann

André Thalmann has extensive experience in the legal field, with a focus on managing legal affairs for various companies.

From 2013 to the present, they have worked at KAYAK, initially serving as Deputy General Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel International, and later transitioning to the role of Legal Counsel Europe. In this position, they are responsible for managing legal affairs in the EMEA and APAC regions, including contracts, regulatory matters, employment, GDPR implementation, marketing, and acquisitions. André also leads a team and supervises external counsels.

Prior to joining KAYAK, André was the Corporate Legal Counsel at EurotaxGlass's from 2009 to 2013. André handled all legal affairs for the group, which had subsidiaries in 20 countries and activities in 30 countries. Their responsibilities included contracts, corporate matters, compliance, IP, and employment law.

Before EurotaxGlass's, André served as the General Counsel at Zattoo in 2008 and 2009. In this role, they managed all legal affairs for the group, which had activities in 9 countries. Their responsibilities included contracts, corporate matters, IP, compliance, and start-up/venture capital financing.

André began their legal career at Walder Wyss & Partners, where they worked as an Attorney at Law from 1997 to 2006. André specialized in contracts, corporate matters, and M&A for the ICT industry and its customers. André handled large outsourcing transactions, system integration contracts, e-commerce, and IP and competition law.

André also gained experience as a Trainee and Substitut at Baker & McKenzie from 1995 to 1996.

André Thalmann obtained their Dr. iur. (Ph.D.) in Law from the University of Lausanne - UNIL from 1989 to 1992. André then received an LL.M. in European Law from the College of Europe from 1993 to 1994. In 2007, André Thalmann completed an MBA from the University of St. Gallen. In 2015, they obtained a certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
