Ylva Pernow has extensive experience in the medical field, currently serving as the Chief Physician at Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset since 2008. Ylva Pernow holds additional roles as the acting Director of Quality and Patient Safety and has been the Division Head and Theme Head for the MK1 division, focusing on Inflammation and Infection. In addition to these positions, Ylva Pernow is the Operations Manager for the Endocrine Clinic and serves as a senior consultant. Since 2007, Ylva Pernow has also been an Associate Professor at Karolinska Institutet.
