Victoria Portnoy is a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology. Currently serving as a Staff Scientist at Karius since January 2021, Victoria previously held roles as a Senior Scientist and Scientist II at System Biosciences, where significant contributions included the development of a top-selling extracellular vesicle isolation kit and leading collaborations on mitochondrial genome characterization using SMRT sequencing. Earlier experience includes a Scientist position at BioNascent focused on Aspergillus oryzae, a postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF under Prof. Long-Cheng Li, and a Research Scientist role at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Victoria holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Technion and a BSc in Biology. Earlier career experiences included research assistant roles at both MultiGene Vascular Systems and Vitality Biotechnologies, where skills in cell culture and plant transformation techniques were developed.
