Ryan Tibbets serves as the Chief of Staff at the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety since January 2011, previously holding the position of Assistant Chief in Fire Administration and Finance. Tibbets has been the Deputy Fire Chief at Georgetown Township since 1999 and worked as a firefighter for the City of Wyoming, MI, from 1997 until February 2011. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Grand Valley State University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science from Lake Superior State University, and completion of the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy.
