Alan Freund has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Alan started their career at BP in 1978, where they held the role of Manager in Wholesale Marketing Administration & Control. Alan managed accounting, FP&A, credit, and tax functions for a $3 billion division and played a key role in developing performance measures. Alan then joined Global Octanes Corporation as the Corporate Controller, where they established financial functions for a startup chemical manufacturing company. Alan directed business planning, budgeting, financial reporting, audit, tax, insurance, and supply.
In 1997, Alan moved to Dynegy, Inc. as the Controller for Natural Gas Liquids & Crude Oil. Alan oversaw business planning, accounting, and financial reporting functions for a $5 billion division. After that, Alan worked at Statoil Energy as the Controller of Energy Services, where they directed business planning, accounting, and financial reporting for a $400 million division. In 2000, Alan was hired as the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at ACN Energy, where they implemented financial controls for a rapidly growing company. Alan later joined Trans-Elect, Inc. as the Vice President & Controller, responsible for $1 billion worth of electric transmission assets in the U.S. and Canada.
From 2007 to 2011, Alan worked at The AES Corporation as the Director of Global Initiatives. Alan led a project to remediate a material weakness in the company's SEC reported financial statements, successfully managing the project to completion. After that, they joined Mona Electric Group, Inc. as the Chief Financial Officer. Alan was responsible for all financial functions and played a role in growing the business from $75 million to over $150 million in annual revenues.
Most recently, Alan has been working at K2 Construction Consultants, Inc. as the Director of Finance, overseeing all financial activities of the company. K2 is a leading industry player in project management, systems integration, and complex security solutions deployment.
In addition to their vast professional experience, Alan also worked as a self-employed Financial Consultant in 2020.
Alan Freund's education history includes obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry & Business Administration from Emporia State University, which they completed between 1972 and 1975.
