As Executive Director, Dwayne D. Busby oversees the mission, goals, and overall purpose of Strategic Partnerships at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Strategic Partnerships is a new department within the Office of the President that actively pursues and promotes applied research, internships, and experiential learning opportunities designed to enhance the academic experience and prepare students to be courageous, competent, confident, and caring citizens of the world.
Busby and his team partner with departments across the university to coordinate events and activities that will influence and engage the community. Prior to his current role, Busby served as Executive Director of University Advancement, where he oversaw the development and alumni relations teams for UHCL.
Before he arrived at UHCL, Busby was a major gifts officer for UH C.T. Bauer College of Business. Before joining the UH System, Busby worked for Clark University for six years as a major gifts officer, where he led the west coast and southern region in engagement and fundraising efforts as part of a $125-million comprehensive campaign. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University.
