Thomas Prevot has extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Thomas currently holds the role of Air Taxi Product Lead at Joby Aviation since 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Airspace Systems at Uber from 2017 to 2021. Before working at Uber, they worked as an Aerospace Research Engineer at NASA from 2011 to 2017. Additionally, they held the position of Senior Research Engineer at San José State University Research Foundation/NASA from 1997 to 2011. Thomas also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the National Research Council/NASA from 1996 to 1997. Prior to their academic work, they were a self-employed consultant in Flight Management Systems Engineering from 1995 to 1996. Thomas began their career as a Technical Officer in the German Air Force from 1985 to 1995.

Thomas Prevot attended the Bundeswehr University Munich from 1986 to 1990 and received a Dipl-Ing degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Thomas then continued their education at the same university from 1990 to 1995, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering Technology/Technician.
