Matthew Brtis has over 25 years of work experience in roles related to quality assurance and software release management. Matthew is currently working as a Senior Business Systems Analyst at Joby Aviation since July 2020. Prior to that, they served as a Program Manager of Software Release at Karma Automotive from March 2015 to December 2019. From June 2013 to February 2015, they were a Software Release Manager at Insperity, and from August 2002 to June 2013, they worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer at the same company. Additionally, they have experience as a Quality Assurance Consultant at Solien Technology in 2001, a Manager Quality Assurance at L90 INC from May 2001 to October 2001, a Manager Quality Assurance and Lead Quality Assurance Engineer at eHobbies from June 2000 to May 2001, a Quality Assurance Engineer at Mobile Automation, Inc. from December 1998 to September 1999, and various roles including Quality Assurance Project Lead, Senior Quality Assurance Analyst, and Quality Assurance Analyst at Quarterdeck Corporation from 1995 to 1998.

Matthew Brtis attended El Camino Real High School from 1990 to 1993. During this time, they did not receive a degree or pursue any specific field of study. Following their high school education, Matthew went on to study at UCLA from 1993 to 1998. At UCLA, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science. Additionally, Matthew obtained certifications in Scuba Diving from NAUI Pacific Rim in October 2004 and as a Licensed Amateur Radio Operator from the Federal Communications Commission in 1989.
