Daniel Escobar's work experience starts with their current role as a Senior Rotor Dynamics Engineer at Joby Aviation, which began in May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Aerospace Engineer at the U.S. Army DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center from March 2022 to May 2023. From August 2020 to March 2022, Daniel was a Research Scientist at Science and Technology Corporation (STC).

Before that, they held multiple positions at the University of Maryland, including Clark Doctoral Fellow from May 2018 to August 2020, Graduate Research Assistant from August 2015 to August 2020, Team Lead for the AHS Student Design Competition from January 2017 to May 2017, and participated in the AHS Autonomous Micro-Air Vehicle Student Competition from August 2015 to June 2016.

Daniel also gained experience as a Robotics Engineering Intern at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, working with the Mars Science Helicopter team from June 2019 to August 2019. Daniel was a Research Associate at the Army Aviation Development Directorate from June 2018 to August 2018, focusing on rotor analysis of a coaxial Mars rotorcraft.

Furthermore, Daniel worked as a Research Assistant at Cornell University, where they investigated rotorcraft drone flight on Mars from August 2014 to May 2015. Prior to that, they were a Mechanical Engineering Co-op Intern at Heller Industries, optimizing efficiency and quality at their manufacturing plant in Shanghai, China, from August 2013 to August 2014. Daniel was also part of the Cornell University Violet Satellite Project as a Harness Sub-Team Member from May 2013 to May 2014 and worked as a Product Development Intern at Tapi North America from June 2012 to July 2012.

Daniel Escobar completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from the University of Maryland between 2017 and 2020. Before that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the same university from 2015 to 2017. Prior to their time at the University of Maryland, Daniel earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University between 2011 and 2015. Daniel'seducation journey began at St. Paul's School from 2007 to 2011, although the specific degree and field of study during that period are unspecified.
