Byron Watson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Byron began their career as a Digital Project Manager at EHPlabs, where they were responsible for content strategy and delivery for a global supplements e-commerce business. Later, they worked at Macquarie University as a Senior Content Strategist, where they implemented tone of voice and brand compliance across departments and managed a team of UX officers.
Byron then joined Scentre Group as a Digital Project Manager, leading the implementation of social media listening software and developing strategic communications strategies. At Deloitte Digital, Byron served as a Senior Content Specialist, defining and delivering human-centered content strategy for icare, focusing on insurance claim processes.
Subsequently, they worked at the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment as a Digital Strategy and User Experience Lead, providing expert advisory on planning and environment projects. At Barclays, they served as a Senior Content Designer, leading content design efforts and driving digital learning platform transformation.
Byron also worked at AQA as a Content Designer, responsible for designing digital assets for various audiences. At MindGym, they held two roles, first as a Senior Content Designer and later as a Principal Content Designer, leading content design and strategy for digital products and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.
Currently, Byron holds the position of Director of Content Design at Job&Talent, where they oversee content design and strategy on a global scale for the essential work marketplace.
Byron Watson has a diverse education history. In 1998, they obtained a Bachelor of Music (Hons) degree in Music from the Guidhall School of Music and Drama. Byron continued their education in 2002 at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where they earned a Master of Music degree in 2003. Byron further pursued their musical career by obtaining a Master of Opera degree from the same institution in 2004.
In 2014, Byron attended the McMillan Institute and completed a Diploma in Project Management, specializing in Project Management. Recently, in 2021, they enrolled in Content Design London to advance their skills in content design, obtaining a certification in Advanced Content Design in March.
Alongside their formal education, Byron has also obtained additional certifications. In 2020, they acquired a certification in Digital Transformation from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and a certification in Fundamentals of Digital Marketing from Google. Additionally, they hold a Diploma of Project Management from the Australian Institute of Project Management AIPM, although the specific timeline for this certification is not provided.
