Marieke van Kooten is a seasoned tax professional currently serving as Director Tax at Mazars in Nederland since September 2023, after holding positions as Senior Tax Advisor and Tax Advisor within the same firm since March 2015. With extensive experience at Mazars, Marieke specializes in advising SMEs and their shareholders on corporate tax, income tax, gift tax, and inheritance tax. Previous roles include a position as a tax advisor at de Jong & Laan, and as a fiscalist at BGH Accountants & Adviseurs. Marieke began their career at Ernst & Young, where Marieke worked as a manager in the General Tax Practice from August 2002 to December 2011. Marieke holds a Master’s degree in Fiscal Law from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor’s degree in Fiscal Economics from Hanze. Additionally, Marieke is a member of the Raad van Toekomst at JINC since October 2020.
