Yan Kurniawan has worked in the IT industry since 2002. Yan'swork experience includes System Administrator and Network Engineer roles at PT Indo Pratama Teleglobal from 2002 to 2007. From 2007 to 2014, they worked as a System Administrator at PT. Indo Global Telecommunications where they were responsible for installation, administration, and maintenance of Linux-based servers, design and installation of IGT's voice network system, building Fedora custom kernel, automating server backup and maintenance tasks, implementing firewall using iptables, provisioning and troubleshooting vendors/clients VoIP interconnection, and providing technical support for customers. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as a DevOps/AWS Consultant (Freelance) at oDesk and as a DevOps Engineer (Freelance) at Jet Interactive Pty Ltd. From 2015 to 2022, they worked as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer at Flux7 Labs Inc. where they helped companies move to the cloud, automated everything including infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and CI/CD pipeline. Currently, they work as a DevOps Engineer at JigSpace Inc.

Yan Kurniawan obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electronics Engineering from Satya Wacana Christian University between 1997 and 2001. Yan also holds certifications from Puppet Labs, Inc. (Puppet Professional 2014, obtained in April 2014), Amazon Web Services (AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, obtained in March 2016), and Cisco (CCNA, obtained in May 2013; CCNA Voice, obtained in October 2013; CCNP Voice, obtained in March 2014).
