William Acosta Perez has worked as a Cyber Defense Operator IV at JFL CONSULTING, LLC since August 2021. Prior to that, they served in various roles in the US Army, including Cyber Exploitation Operator, Open-Source Research Operator, and Cryptologic Cyberspace Intelligence Collector/Analyst. In these roles, they provided threat and vulnerability analysis, conducted penetration testing and vulnerability scans, and worked with business units to remediate systems. William also prepared and presented intelligence briefings, assessed and exploited vulnerabilities, and developed domain-specific tools. Their work experience in the military spanned from August 2015 to August 2021.

William Acosta Perez obtained their Bachelor's degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez in 2012. William also holds several certifications, including Red Team Apprentice Certified (RTAC) and Red Team Apprentice Operator from kfivefour and Millennium Corporation respectively. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), Security+, and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from CompTIA and EC-Council.
