Ira Bartfield (Washington, DC) served for more than 40 years on the staff of the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, where he held supervisory positions in the Education and Visual Services departments. He sits on the executive board of B’nai B’rith International, and the board of Jewish Council for the Aging of Greater Washington. Ira served as his synagogue’s President and on the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington board. He sits on the boards of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington, and the American Zionist Movement. Ira has served in many capacities at JNF. He has been a member of Makor since 2004; National Chair of the Community Campaign; the ‘Breakfast with JNF’ program; the Go for the Green! Campaign; and serves on the Executive Committee of the Washington, D.C. JNF board. Ira is a member of JNF’s Century Council and Negev Society, is active on the Go North Task Force, and the Israel Heritage Sites Task Force.
