Bruce Taten

Bruce Taten is the current Director at JELD-WEN. Bruce has also previously worked as the Vice President and General Counsel at Nabors Industries from January 2003 to December 2009. There, they were responsible for the worldwide legal function and chief compliance officer for $5.5B, 26,000-employee oil and gas drilling contractor. Bruce's significant accomplishments include implementing a broad compliance program and successfully handling FCPA investigations. Bruce also oversaw multiple public debt financings and closed numerous M&A transactions. Taten has also worked as a Corporate & Tax Attorney at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP from January 1987 to December 1993, where they represented clients across industries in general business transactions with an emphasis on M&A, SEC compliance, tax controversies, risk management vehicles, and general corporate matters. Prior to that, they worked as a Tax Attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP from January 1983 to December 1987. Currently, they work as an Expert Witness, Board & ESG Consultant at the Law Office of Bruce M. Taten.

Bruce Taten holds a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School, a Master of Science in Accounting from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor In Biology from Georgetown University. Bruce is also certified by the SASB – Sustainability Accounting Standards Board in Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Accounting Certification. Additionally, they are licensed as an attorney by the State Bar of Texas and the New York State Bar Association. Finally, they were previously certified as a Certified Public Accountant by the State of New Jersey from 1978-1993.
