Volker Barkmann is an experienced leader in government affairs, public policy, and stakeholder management within the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as the Head of External Affairs for D-A-CH and Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy & PR at Jazz Pharmaceuticals since October 2022, Barkmann has previously held significant roles at GW Pharmaceuticals, Biogen, Boehringer Ingelheim, and the vfa German Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies, developing and implementing strategies to achieve corporate objectives, building stakeholder networks, and representing organizations at various governmental levels. Educational background includes studies at Freie Universität Berlin, University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, and Università degli Studi di Bari.
