Tuija Kuusisto (née Laanti) currently serves as the 2nd Vice President of the City Board and a member of the City Council for Järvenpään kaupunki, also chairing the Coalition Party City Council members since June 2021. Kuusisto has held the role of Adjunct Professor at the University of Jyväskylä since February 2017, teaching a course on Cyber Security in the Public Sector, and has been an Adjunct Professor at the National Defence University of Finland since April 2004, focusing on cyber security and information management. As a Senior Ministerial Advisor at the Ministry of Finance since May 2012, Kuusisto contributed to Finland’s Cyber Security Strategy 2024-2035. Additional experience includes leadership roles in various organizations, including chairing the Keski-Uudenmaan Vesi Kuntayhtymä Board and participating as an expert with the European Commission on multiple proposal evaluations. Kuusisto holds advanced degrees in Geoinformatics from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan.
