Gijs Ramaekers is an experienced maritime professional with a Bachelor's degree in Maritime Officer from HZ University of Applied Sciences, obtained between 2013 and 2018. Currently serving as a 2nd engineer at Jan De Nul Group since June 2022, Gijs previously held multiple engineering roles at Holland America Line from July 2018 to June 2022, progressing from 4th engineer to senior 3rd engineer. Gijs also gained valuable experience as a cadet on the MS Westerdam, MS Prinsendam, and MS Statendam during various periods between 2015 and 2017.
