Emily has several years of applied experience in public health disease surveillance and informatics at the state and local level, in a variety of jurisdictions. She has collected data through case investigation as an epidemiologist and contributed to the planning and development of new surveillance systems. Emily has a degree in Bioengineering with a minor in Global Health Technologies and holds a Master of Public Health with a certificate in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. She was a member of Class V of the CDC/CSTE Applied Public Health Informatics Fellowship (APHIF), during which she used standards and vocabularies such as LOINC, SNOMED, and HL7 to perform data quality analysis and code mapping. Through her combination of experience in bioengineering laboratory work, public health informatics, and epidemiology, Emily is prepared to provide terminology expertise at JMC.
