Frans van Tonder is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Engineering Superintendent 1 for Planned Maintenance and Reliability at Ivanhoe Mines since November 2023, focusing on the smooth transition of a newly constructed plant. Prior roles include Engineering Superintendent II at Kamoa Copper S.A. where Frans standardized maintenance practices and developed the Asset Management framework, and Engineering Superintendent 1 for Planned Maintenance/Reliability, implementing the Oracle JDE Capital Asset Management system. Frans has also worked as a Senior Asset Management Consultant at Vetasi Limited, contributing to business process development for IBM Maximo.
