Renaud Bailleux is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in coastal and marine resource management across Africa. Currently serving as the Coastal and Marine Regional Program Coordinator for IUCN since January 2019, Renaud oversees a diverse portfolio of significant projects, including major initiatives funded by the World Bank and the EU aimed at combating coastal erosion, climate change, and plastic pollution. Previous roles include Principal Technical Advisor at GFA/ICCN focusing on conservation efforts in national parks, and extensive consultancy and project management roles with organizations such as WWF, SRFC, and FAO. Renaud holds a Master’s degree in Demography and Population Studies from Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science/International Relations from Université libre de Bruxelles.
