Alessandro Romano

Alessandro Romano has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Alessandro is currently the Founder & CEO of Ittinsect - Feed for the Ocean, a biotech startup that focuses on sustainable aquaculture feed. Prior to this, Alessandro worked as a S&P/Projects Shipbroker at IFCHOR from 2018 to 2020. Alessandro also had a brief role as a Trainee S&P Shipbroker at the same company in 2018. In 2017, Alessandro participated in a Leadership Programme at Rabugino Sp. Z o. O, a family business. Alessandro was also involved in various roles at the University of Southampton, including serving as the Academic President for Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and as a Project Manager in the Business Innovation Programme. Additionally, they gained experience as a Vessel Management Intern at Yachting Partners International (YPI) and as an intern in the Technical and Chartering Departments at PB Tankers. Alessandro's earlier work experiences include serving as the Technical Secretary at Southampton Hydro Team and as a Production Management Intern at Rabugino Sp. Z o. O. Alessandro also worked as an Italian Student Ambassador at HEBER SPRINGS SCHOOL DISTRICT and as a Trainee Sailing Instructor at A.s.d. Centro Velico 3V. Throughout their career, Alessandro has shown a dedication to sustainability, leadership, and expanding their knowledge through diverse experiences.

Alessandro Romano pursued their education in a sequential manner. Alessandro began their academic journey from 2011 to 2012 at Heber Springs High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma through the World Exchange Program. Following this, from 2012 to 2013, they attended Liceo Scientifico, where they pursued a degree in Scientific fields.

Moving forward, Alessandro enrolled at the University of Southampton in 2013 and completed their degree in MEng (BEng + MSc equivalent) Marine Engineering with Engineering Management in 2017. During their time at the university, they focused on the field of study related to Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.

In 2017, Alessandro pursued further learning and attended the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, where they gained a Professionally Qualifying Examination in Shipping Business. This educational experience provided Alessandro with valuable knowledge in the field.

Apart from their formal education, Alessandro Romano also obtained several additional certifications. In November 2012, they achieved an IELTS certification from IELTS Official. In August 2016, they obtained an MSEQ certification from PB Tankers. Additionally, they completed the VentureLab ICT 3 - Business Creation certification from Venturelab in March 2020. Lastly, Alessandro was recognized for their accomplishments in 2023 when they received the Forbes Under 30 Europe award from Forbes.
