Mikkel Du Plessis has worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at ITONICS - The Innovation OS since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Developer at Tidon Tech from February 2022 to April 2022. Mikkel also has experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Cobham Aerospace Communications in both 2017 and 2019.

Mikkel Du Plessis has a strong educational background in the field of mathematics and computer science. Mikkel completed their high school education at Hoërskool Jan van Riebeeck from 2011 to 2015, earning their High School Diploma. Following this, from 2016 to 2018, they pursued their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science at Stellenbosch University. Mikkel continued their studies at the same university, specializing in Applied Mathematics and achieving their Honours degree in 2020. Currently, they are working towards a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics at Stellenbosch University, which began in 2021 and is expected to conclude in 2022.
