Umi Mir Kato has a work experience in the field of medical technology and engineering. In 2018, they completed an internship at the Electronical and Biomedical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Physics at the University of Barcelona, where they programmed and constructed a breath sampler. In 2019, they worked as an intern at Schallware GmbH, focusing on their master thesis in ultrasound imaging and robotics. During this time, they developed a monitorization method for the acquisition of 3D ultrasound volumes on in-vivo mouse models for cancer evaluation in brain and abdominal tumors. They also collaborated with EPO GmbH Berlin-Buch, Germany. From 2020, they joined iThera Medical GmbH, where they currently work as a Service Engineer.

Umi Mir Kato's education history includes a variety of degrees and fields of study. From 2008 to 2014, Umi completed their ESO (educación secundaria obligatoria) and Bachillerato (pre-university education) at IES Joan Alcover. During the same period, they also pursued their Grado Profesional (Professional Degree) in Violin at Conservatori Professional de Música i Dansa les Illes Balears.

Moving onto higher education, Umi attended Universitat de Barcelona from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. Later, in 2018, Umi returned to Universitat de Barcelona and enrolled in a Master's degree program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Biomedical Engineering, EIT-Health. In the same year, they also undertook additional Master Courses in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino.

In 2019, Umi briefly attended Instituto Superior Técnico for a Master's degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Biomedical Engineering, EIT-Health. Their main field of study throughout their education has focused on Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering.
