John Horsburgh is an accomplished professional in the energy sector, currently serving as General Manager Subsurface and Wells at Ithaca Energy since May 2008. In this role, John has taken on Non Operated Joint Venture accountability, significantly impacting the company's production and expenditure. As the Director of Subsurface and Growth, John leads a diverse team of subsurface professionals and oversees reservoir management and development, contributing to Ithaca's status as one of the top five North Sea exploration and production companies. Previous positions include Chief Technical Officer and Corporate Reserves Manager at Ithaca Energy, as well as various roles within Shell, where John specialized in subsurface lead and development geoscience. John holds a Master of Science in Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen and a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from The University of Edinburgh, complemented by education from London Business School.
