Joanne Maclaren has extensive experience in the healthcare sector, currently serving as the Director of the Office of the VP, Quality, Research, and Chief Nursing and Allied Health Officer at Island Health since August 1989. Throughout their career at Island Health, Joanne has held multiple roles including Forensic Nurse Examiner, Director of Professional Practice, and Breast Health Patient Navigator. Additionally, Joanne has worked for the BC Ministry of Health as Senior Director of Nursing Policy, Practice and Education, and as Executive Director of the Nursing Policy Secretariat. Joanne's educational qualifications include a Master of Nursing in Nursing Education from the University of Victoria and a Certified Health Executive designation from the Canadian College of Health Leaders, among other credentials.
