Dave Messina is a seasoned professional in the fields of health and biotechnology, currently serving as General Partner at Pioneer Fund since November 2017, where leadership is directed towards the Future of Health Fund. With a rich history of advisory roles, including positions at Harmonix, Geneoscopy, and the American Cancer Society, Dave also co-leads the Bio+Health Fund at Harmonix and participates as a member of the selection committee at iSelect Fund. As the founder and Chief Operating Officer at Cofactor Genomics, which develops RNA-based diagnostics, Dave oversees operations and production. Dave's involvement in education includes a tenure on the Board of Trustees at Thomas Jefferson School and advising for Y Combinator's Startup School program. Dave's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from Stockholm University, an MS in Genetics from Washington University School of Medicine, and a BS in Biology from the University of Illinois Chicago.
