Vincent Nieuwenhuijs has extensive work experience in the field of surgery. Vincent started their career as a PhD student at UMC Utrecht in 1994 and later worked as a resident at Diakonessenhuis from 1998 to 2001. Vincent then joined University Medical Center Utrecht as a resident from 2001 to 2003. After that, they served as the Chief Surgical Resident at Flinders Medical Centre from 2004 to 2006. Vincent then worked as a Surgeon at UMCG from 2006 to 2011. Since 2012, Vincent has been working at Isala (ziekenhuis) as an HPB and Gastrointestinal Surgeon, and currently holds the position of opleider chirurgie (director surgical training) starting from January 2019.
Vincent Nieuwenhuijs obtained their MD degree in Medicine from Leiden University, where they studied from 1986 to 1994. Vincent then pursued further education and received a PhD in Medicine from Utrecht University, completing their studies from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained certifications as a Gastrointestinal Surgeon, Surgical Oncologist, and General Surgeon from the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Heelkunde in 2019 and 2015.
