Igor Moraes Cardoso is currently a PhD candidate specializing in Immunology and Vaccinology at the IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute, focusing on the clinical and pre-clinical immune monitoring of HIV therapeutic vaccines and Mpox-HIV co-infection. Previous experience includes a master's research internship at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, where the focus was on cytotoxicity post-vaccination, and roles as a teaching assistant in biology and immunology at Colégio e Curso pH and Universidade Federal Fluminense, respectively. Early research involvement at Fiocruz centered on the immunopathogenesis of HIV-1 infection, supported by a scholarship from FAPERJ. Igor Moraes Cardoso holds multiple Master of Science degrees in Vaccinology from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and University of Antwerp, as well as a Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences from Universidade Federal Fluminense.
