Andrew Foy has a background in law, specifically in the field of patent counsel. Andrew began their career as an associate at Fish & Richardson P.C. in 2005 and worked there until 2010. From 2010 to 2012, Foy worked as a Patent Counsel at Hewlett-Packard. Andrew then moved on to MicroStrategy, where they held the position of Senior Patent Counsel from 2012 to 2013. Foy's most recent role was at Iridium, where they started as a Director & Senior Corporate Counsel in 2013 and later became the Executive Director & Senior Corporate Counsel in 2018.

Andrew Foy completed their education with a BA degree in History from Furman University in 2000. Afterward, they pursued a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2002. Finally, they attended the University of Virginia School of Law from 2002 to 2005 to earn a JD degree.
