Matt Jones has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies. Matt is currently working at IQGeo as the Chief Solutions Architect - EMEA since March 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Principal Solutions Architect from April 2020 to March 2023 and as a Solution Architect from November 2017 to April 2020. Before joining IQGeo, Matt worked at Esri UK, where they held the position of Technical Research Manager from May 2016 to November 2017 and Technical Research Consultant from May 2013 to April 2016. Additionally, they worked at AECOM as a Graduate Transport Consultant from October 2007 to September 2009, where their responsibilities included mapping and transport design solutions, leading a BMX event Olympic Route Network GIS journey time assessment project, and designing and implementing temporary traffic management strategies. Matt's early career includes a role at ACCO Brands as a Database Developer / Administrative Assistant from July 2005 to December 2005, where they created and implemented a customer database system, conducted employee training, and collaborated with executives on client presentations.
Matt Jones has a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from Keio University, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they were a Research Student at The University of Tokyo from 2009 to 2011, focusing on Computer Vision. In 2007, they earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Archaeological Computing from the University of Southampton. Matt completed their undergraduate studies at the same university, receiving a Bachelor's degree in History from 2002 to 2005. Matt Jones attended Aylesbury Grammar School from 1996 to 2002. In terms of certifications, they obtained an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2022.
