Manuel Alejandro Rentería Gómez has worked as a production chemist at ION Biosciences starting from November 2021. Before that, they worked at Universidad de Guanajuato as a research fellow for their doctorate, master's, and undergraduate degrees. During their research, they focused on organic synthesis, multicomponent reactions, and the development of sustainable methodologies. Manuel Alejandro also worked as a research fellow during their service professional social at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.

Manuel Alejandro Rentería Gómez first attended the Universidad de Guanajuato from 2008 to 2013, where they earned a degree in Licenciado Químico Farmacéutico Biólogo. Manuel Alejandro then pursued a Master's degree in Ciencias Químicas, with a concentration in Síntesis Orgánica, from 2015 to 2017 at the same university. Currently, they are enrolled as a Estudiante de Doctorado en Ciencias Químicas with a focus on Síntesis Orgánica at the Universidad de Guanajuato.
