Alex Mayo is an experienced professional specializing in sample handling and coordination within laboratory settings. Currently serving as Facilities Senior Co-ordinator at Intertek since August 2022, Alex manages the clinical sample reception, adhering to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards and processing up to 10,000 samples monthly, while also focusing on improving procedures and developing LIMS Labware. Previously, Alex held the position of Sample Handling Supervisor at the UK Lighthouse Lab Network, where responsibilities included supervising a team of 25 and overseeing the receipt of over 80,000 samples daily in an ISO 15189 accredited facility. Earlier experiences include roles as Head Waiter at Bananas Restaurant and Bar, Camp Counselor at Camp Fatima & Camp Bernadette, and Research Intern at Anaphite. Alex holds an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Bristol, completed in 2019, and attended Stockport Grammar School from 2008 to 2015.
