Gendered Dimensions Of Disengagement, Disassociation, Reintegration And Reconciliation at IOM - UN Migration

Chitra Nagarajan is an Independent Consultant with extensive experience in research and policy analysis across various organizations since June 2016. Currently associated with the International Organisation for Migration, Chitra focuses on integrating gender transformation into DDRR practices in Chad and Niger. Chitra also contributes to the Center for Civilians in Conflict, providing insights into security trends in Nigeria, and leads campaigning efforts at Safety4Sisters to advocate for the rights of migrant survivors of gender-based violence in Greater Manchester. In collaboration with FEMNET, Chitra identifies macroeconomic policy impacts on women's rights in Africa and supports safeguarding frameworks for African women’s funds at Urgent Action Fund-Africa. Additionally, Chitra researches the gendered impacts of COVID-19 in Nigeria for Education as a Vaccine and conducts climate security assessments in Mali with adelphi. Chitra holds an MSc in Social Research Skills from Ulster University, an LLM in Human Rights from SOAS, and an LLB in Law with American Law from the University of Nottingham, further enhancing analytical expertise in social inequality, conflict, and justice.
