Paavo Miettinen is a Senior Financial Sector Expert at the International Monetary Fund since August 2021, previously serving as the Head of Macroprudential Analysis Division at the Bank of Finland from February 2016 to August 2021. Miettinen held the position of Advisor to the Executive Director for Nordic and Baltic countries at the International Monetary Fund from July 2013 to December 2015, and worked as a Financial Economist and Economist at the Bank of Finland from May 2009 to July 2013. Prior experience includes serving as a Portfolio Manager at Danske Capital and the Bank of Finland between November 2006 and May 2009. Miettinen earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Helsinki (2002-2007) and was a Visiting Scholar in Economics at New York University (2004-2005).
