Gideon Schmerling has amassed a considerable amount of work experience in various high-profile positions. Gideon began their career as a correspondent for Maariv in 1996 and later held spokesperson roles at the Knesset and the Municipality of Jerusalem. Schmerling then became the Head of the National Information Directorate of the State of Israel and P.M Spokesperson at the Office of the Prime Minister in 2010. Gideon was responsible for managing media relations for the Prime Minister and the Government of Israel, along with coordinating media relations for various security agencies. In 2011, Schmerling joined the Tel Aviv Yafo Municipality, where they formulated and managed the city's personalized smart resident card, known as the "DigiTel" card.
