James Slevin has extensive experience in the fire service and legal field. As a firefighter at the New York City Fire Department since October 1995, James is assigned to Ladder 7 and holds certifications as a SOC Support and Haz-Mat Tech I. James has held leadership positions, including 1st District Vice President of the International Association of Fire Fighters since September 2016 and President of the Uniformed Firefighters Association, Local 94, from August 2002 to May 2017. Additionally, James served as a Trustee for the New York City Fire Pension Fund during the same period. Before their firefighting career, James practiced as an attorney with Frontier Insurance Company, managing general liability and medical malpractice litigation. Academically, James earned a J.D. from City University of New York School of Law and a B.S. in Biology from Fairfield University.
