Michael Ardis is a seasoned communications and technology professional with over three decades of experience in leading communication strategies and technology initiatives for trade associations. Currently serving as the Sr. Director of Communications & Technology at the International Association of Assessing Officers since December 2014, Michael has successfully overseen communications for an international membership of over 8,000 and has reinvigorated international conferences, boosting registration and attendance. Prior to this role, Michael held several positions at the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, culminating in a Director role where technology initiatives facilitated the merger of two associations. Earlier experience includes serving as the Public Information Officer for the Kansas Corporation Commission, managing media relations for critical issues in the energy sector. Michael holds a Master of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from The University of Kansas and has earned the Accredited Public Relations designation from the Public Relations Society of America.
