Ismar Sabanovic is a seasoned professional in the aviation and sustainability sectors, currently serving as Manager of Sustainability Programs at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since April 2022, after holding the position of Assistant Manager of Environmental Programs. In this role, Ismar plays a key part in developing methodologies for tracking progress towards Net Zero targets, enhancing data quality for CO2 emissions, and supporting airlines with compliance. Prior experience includes serving as Aviation Manager at Verifavia, where responsibilities encompassed managing auditors, delivering training, and conducting aviation audits related to EU ETS and CORSIA. Ismar's career began with an internship at Flight Ascend Consultancy, which involved market analysis and research in the aviation sector. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida, as well as an International Baccalaureate Diploma from UWC Red Cross Nordic.
