Lawrence Ohab

Lawrence Ohab has a diverse and extensive work experience in the software development field. Lawrence began their career in 2001 at Microsoft, where they worked as a Software Developer for Xbox, contributing to Xbox Live client and server applications. During their time at Xbox, they also played a role in designing and implementing critical UI components for the Xbox 360 console.

In 2007, Lawrence joined Microsoft's Zune team as a Software Developer. Lawrence designed an input queue model to replace the Windows CE implementation on Zune and worked on various aspects of the Zune device user interface, including the UX physics model, online marketplace, HD Radio interface, wifi connectivity, and TV output display.

After their tenure at Microsoft's Zune, Lawrence joined HTC: Innovation Software in 2011 as a Senior Software Developer. Lawrence was responsible for full-stack design and architecture of Android applications released by HTC, as well as developing server-side solutions on the AWS platform.

Lawrence then transitioned back to Microsoft in 2014 as a Senior Software Developer for the Apple Office (APEX) team. In this role, they worked on developing for Microsoft Word across Mac, iOS, and Windows platforms, focusing on the next phase of Office collaboration and delivering unique experiences per platform.

Most recently, Lawrence is employed at Interloc Solutions since 2019 as the Android Development Lead. In this capacity, they lead the Android mobile product initiative and oversees the full stack solution architecture of customized Enterprise Asset Management solutions. Lawrence also authors online/offline solutions using the latest Android Kotlin toolsets.

Lawrence Ohab attended the University of Waterloo from 1996 to 2001 and earned a Bachelor of Mathematics degree. Lawrence studied Computer Science/Software Engineering during their time at the university.
